Who I am
I am a person who is interested in photography and in old technology. As an eletrican and PLC programmer, I only see the new modern side of technic. With this hobby I am able to see a "new", old side of it. Every location has its own smell, its own feelings, its own sounds. Each expedition into the underground or into a ruin is a unique, irretrievable experience.
I do not make phographes as artistry but for saving my own experience and showing them to others. This website shall show you how I saw the underground. Lots of the spots I documented are currently gone or changed by demolishing, vandalism or even by nature.
None of my photographs are posed. None of them are manipulated on the computer. Each one is a unique kind of contingency.
Although there are many pictures of military application, I am not interested in war or anykind of voilence. The bunkers of world war II are a big playground for photographs. Some locations are currently untouched and you can already feel the past and how nature retrieves what humans destroyed.
On some picture you can see helmet cameras. Most of our expeditions are filmed. For our own documentation and in case we got in trouble we can prove that we did not destroy anything. We always use the principate "take nothing except photoraphs and leave nothing except your footprints". And we hope everyone else will also do so!
Making expeditions into lostplaces is always dangerous. Normaly we take a lot of safety, security and rescue equipment with us: Starting with spare tourches going over with first aid kits and ending by climbing gear. But sometime a little misstake can change everything. On your fist expeditions we forgot spare batteries for our tourches, one time we forgot helmets. So not all of my pictures are perfect in that way. I know that.
100% of safety is unable to reach. If you also want wo to such expeditions please remember to do everything for you and your partners safety. Never go alone, always told some one where you are, what you are doing and how many time you will need. And always think about your next step. If you feel uncomfortable tell that to you partner and decide toghther what to do. If ones feels unsafe it is better to give up this trip than getting hurt or lost. And also think about the legal part of walking through a lostplace....
My photo equipment is not very cheap. OK, it is not really the best you can get, but it is something I can work with. Fuel for my car for getting to this location or even safety gear are also not for free. Everything costs money. So if you want to use a picture I published (no matter for what kind f use), please contact me and ask me before you use it! I just want to know where my pictures are and who uses them. If you are planning to make money with them (or even use them in a coporate way) please be so kind and buy me a coffee or two :-) I am happy about every use but I think a kind of fair use is good for bothsides.
If you see a person an a photo it is normaly not me. Because I am behind the camera!
I am living somewhere in Europe. My homestate has a very strange opinion of data and moral protection so this side is hosted somewhere else in the world.
If you have any questions or tipps or anything else, please feel free to contact me via contact.
