LostPlace-Tour 2
Because of the snow and the short time (we had only 3 days) we only vistited a lot of small locations and only one big site.

This site was the main reason why we came back into this area. We know that it is really hugh with a lot of inventory in it, This bunker was hold in service until the late 80s. It was designed for about 600 persons and were in the traditional design. The main gallery is one of the deepest and longest!
It was the snowiest day of the year and we had do drive over some dirt roads to reach the site.
Also we had big problems with the snow. We had to walk over an half an hour because we nearly got stuck with the car.
But all the effort was worth it! The site was amazing. Badly stripped by copper and steel thefes, but some of the engines, the ventilation system and the tracks of the railway were already in the underground.
It is a very large location, we were over 7 hours down into the underground.
This was also the first time we suddenly met other urbexers in such a location. We were a little bit frightened as we saw suddenly light at the other end of the tunnel.
And this also was the first time we had a little accident. My partner overlook the waterfilled service pit for the locomotives and fell into it. The water was nearly frozen....
Both were very scary experiences.....
After such a long time downstairs we had to walk another 30min through the snow to get back to the car. We were very happy as we arrived at the campsite, having a hot shower and cooking a nice meal.
Here are some pictures of our second trip. We visited one big site (Another big site of WW II) and some smaller ones. We had big problems with the snow (the weather forecast said "heavy rain" but over 30cm of snow fall within 4 hours). Therefore a lot of our equipment got wet, so the pictures are not already the best...
The wheather was so bad, that we were forced to put on snowchains on my car. One time the air inlet of the heating was clogged by snow. So we decided not to drive on each dirt road and come back later this year in summertime.
Some of the small bunkers were build in a different kind than the one we visited some time before (Lostplace-Tour 1).
This trip was our very first urban expedition. Not such well planned, not so good prepared, but we had a lot of fun and we made, so I think, some nice photos.

On our trip we often found some small old bunkers. Some were in good shape some not. But all of them were really small so that all the photos I took are composited in one album.
None of them has technical equipment like water pumps or diesel engines. There were only some defence equipment, water tanks, the bunker-style toilet (with strange wastewater treatment/removal system) and air vent systems.
...not really but it seems to be so. This location is a big area of an old steel plant. It has got a rather big unterground system with really big motors, gearboxes and chains in it. We were two times at this location, these are the pictures of our first trip.
Thi location is very popular in geocaching sphere. We just want to have some fun on the old water tower and tested some parts of our new climbing gear. I also made some photos, some are not so nice, I forgot some equipment at the campside.
There are no maschines left, only the buiding. But this has its own shape. It is very old and lost for a long time.
If we spent another time in this are we will come back and make some "nice" pictures ;-)
The last big location we visited was an old mining or steel factory. We do not really know what it is about, but is has something to to with the old power plant and some other steel and mining connected industries in this area.
At this location some popular filmes were made and these walls were often seen on television.
At the inside we could see a lot of old electric equipment and parts of the old maschines. The complete hall was entirely filled with red and white dust. But it was very interesting so see the old conveyor and scales.
After some hours we realized that our complete clothes were full of red and white dust....
It was a cold evening in October when we decided to visit an old artillery site. It was our first time in a big abandoned millitary building. And we were already overwhelmed of our impressions at the old power plant. Some other spotters told us to be very discrete and careful because of hunting activities in the area, so that we decided to wear warning clothes in the night. Better get cought up as accenditelly shooted down by a hunter.
It was not so easy to get in, but once we entered we were overwhelmed. The site was not in the best condition, but there was still a lot so see.
There was a lot of distruction and traces of fire, ignited by copper thiefs. Very, very bad.
But big parts of the air vent system and the electrical system are already visible, very intresting kind of waste water treatment. We did not understand how the toilet "flushing" works. Also some parts of the defense system are already still there.
The power plant was completly burned and distroyed. There were only skeletons of the engines. A very bad fire has been taken place here :-(
These photos were made during our very first urban expedition. We drove lots of kilometers to get there and were very exicited. After a short night at the campground and very early on this saturday morning, we took a try to get inside the building. It was not the perfect weather for taking photographs but this did not mess up our plan.
The inside was amazing! Nearly the complete maschines and pipes (except for the copper ones) where inside! There was a lot to see and discover.
Some photos are not so nice. This was the first time we were in such a huch lostplace and other urbexer were cought up by the police some days ago, so we were a little bit afraid.
Update: In June 2015 we wanted to take some new photos but the power plant is going to be demolished and all entranced were closed. Also a security service takes its rounds all over the place. What a pity!
